Biography of Wallace C. Hodge - Pulaski Co. VA WALLACE C. HODGE-son of Joel and Anna HODGE, was burn in Jericho, Champlain County, Vermont, March 27, 1853. Weurgenia A., his wife, was born in the southern part of Sweden, February 11, 1861, and they were united in marriage May 6, 1880. They have one child, born April 1, 1881, named Anna. In August, 1881, Mr. HODGE came to Pulaski County, the first to introduce here wood-working machinery. He is also the first and to this time the only man to navigate tile New river with steam, for motive power. Thanks to pluck, energy and ambition, he has already established himself well in business here, and is doing much toward developing the material resources of the county. In addition to manufactory, lie is largely engaged in lumbering and lumber dealing. His business card appears elsewhere in this work; his residence is in New River Depot.
