Biography of Riley Harrison Hunt - Pulaski Co. VA RILEY HARRISON HUNT-was a native of Franklin county, Virginia, born May 30, 1825, son of Stephen and Catharine (BIRD) HUNT. In Giles County, Virginia, September 20, 1855, Elizabeth Jane BELLER became his wife, and to them were born seven children: William Christopher, June 28, 1856 died September 12. 1875; Peter Edward, March 8, 1858, is now living in Wyoming territory; George Lewis, February 15, 1860, lives at St. Louis, Missouri ; James Thomas, June 21, 1862, died March 4, 1882; Margaret Permelia, February 4, 1865; Sarah Ann, November 30, 1866 ; Andrew B., March31,1860 these three at home. Elizabeth J., wife of Mr. HUNT was born in Giles County, Virginia, December 19, 1835 and her parents are Peter and Margaret Evaline (LUCAS) BELLER. The father of Mr. HUNT was drafted into the army during the 1812 war, but peace was declared before he was called into active service. Riley H. HUNT came from Raleigh county, West Virginia, to Pulaski county in 1872, settling in Little Walkers valley. He has improved and has now under cultivation a farm of about 500 acres, on which is a fine mineral spring, of iron and sulphur water, highly beneficial to invalids. This valley in acquiring a considerable degree of renown for its medicinal springs, and that upon Mr. HUNTS land is unexcelled. There are everywhere croppings of iron and coal ore in his land also, and it will in the near future amply repay the development of its mineral resources. At present he is farming and grazing the land. His postoffice address is Dublin, Pulaski county, Virginia.
