Biography of Thomas Mills - Pulaski Co. VA THOMAS MILLS--settled with his family in Pulaski county in 1880, and is engaged in the pursuits of agriculture in Hiwassie District. He was born in Franklin county, Virginia, William and Drucilla (KEMP) MILLS his parents, and he married in Montgomery county, Virginia, Sarah NUNLEY there becoming his wife. She was born in Franklin county, a daughter of Richard and Elizabeth (WADE) NUNLEY. Mr. And Mrs. MILLS have been the parents of seven sons and four daughters named: Richard, Isaac, Mary E., deceased, Alice, Thomas, John, Samuel, James, Robert, Annie, and Ida, deceased. In 1862, in Pulaski county, Thomas MILLS volunteered for service in the Confederate army, and enrolled his name as a member of Company D, Sixty-Third Virginia Infantry. He served from that time till the army disbanded, was in the fight of Chickamauga, and all of LEE's campaigns in Eastern Virginia until made prisoner. For the last eleven months of the war he was a Federal prisoner. His postoffice address is Radford Furnace, Pulaski county, Virginia.
