Biography of James M. Nunley - Pulaski Co. VA JAMES M. NUNLEY-and Virginia LANCASTER were united in marriage in Montgomery county, Virginia, 1851. He was born in Pulaski county, April 8, 1826, Richard and Dycie (MORRIS) NUNLEY his parents. His wife was a daughter of William Lewis LANCASTER and Margaret (WYGAL) LANCASTER, and was born in this county, August 25, 1831. The children of their union were born: Rose Ella, December 8, 1851; Henrietta V., January 26, 1853; William L., June 11, 1854; Elbert C., October 14, 1859; George Albert, February 23, 1863; Mary E., March 19, 1866; Margaret E., January 14, 1869; Susie E., August 24, 1879; Milton H., born August 23, 1857, died June 28, 1859. William L. makes his home in North Carolina the others in Pulaski county. Mr. NUNLEY, by reason of his age, did not go into active service in the war between the States, but enlisted in the Virginia Reserves, who were the defenders of the homes of those Virginians who had gone to the front. James M. NUNLEY worked at the trade of wagon making in 1860-1, in Montgomery county, Virginia, then followed the railroad business for a number of years, taking contracts for grading and acting as section boss. After that he operated a farm in Tennessee for nine years, and then came back to Montgomery county, and worked for the railroad two years again. He then came to Pulaski county and engaged in hotel keeping in Dublin, in which he still continues, making comfortable all who seek his hospitality.
