Biography of Joseph F. C. Nunn - Pulaski Co. VA JOSEPH F. C. NUNN-one of the substantial farmers of Pulaski county, has followed that occupation since the close of the war. He owns and resides upon a farm of 210 acres , of which 100 acres are under cultivation, and he has another farm up New river, with seventy-five acres, partly cleared. He was born in Pulaski county May 22, 1846, son of William and C.C. (CLARK) NUNN, the former born in 1803, and the later in 1811, and both still living with him. His grandfather Clark was born in South Carolina, on Palmer's creek, about 1778. Joseph F. C. NUNN served the last year of the civil war as a member of Company C. Ninth Virginia Cavalry. He had one brother who was a soldier of Lee's army from the beginning to the close of that struggle, and passed through all that general's campaigns unharmed. This brother is now living about two miles from Mr. NUNN'S homestead, on the other side of the river. August 31, 1870, in Pulaski county, Orlena L. Clark became the wife of Joseph F. C. NUNN, and to them was born three children: Mary, October 20, 1874; Clyde, March 22, 1877; Clark, August 24, 1880. Randall and Evelina (SNUFFER) CLARK, born in Pulaski county, are the parents of Mrs. NUNN, and she was born in this county December 22, 1848. Mr. NUNN receives his mail at Draper Valley, Pulaski county, Virginia.
