Miller Summons, 1881 To Adam Miller: You are hereby notified that on the 1st day of the June Term, 1881, of the County Court for Pulaski County, Va., we shall move the said Court to fine you five dollars a day for each day you have failed and refused up (to) that time since 9th day of March 1881, to provide a certain mill dam owned and controlled by you on a river of this Commonwealth above tide water, known as Peak Creek, in said County of Pulaski, with a suitable fish ladder known as the McDondald (McDonald?) fish-way, against the statute in such case made and provided. The mill-dam referred to is the one attached to the mill situated in a westerly direction from Newbern about three miles therefrom, near the William Adam road, formerly known as Cook's Mill, & now known as Adam Miller's Mill.
