Deed to Methodist Episcopal Church, 1900 Adv. #106 This Deed, made the Twenty-fourth day of January, A. D. Nineteen hundred (1900) between THE PULASKI LAND AND IMPROVEMENT COMPANY, a corporation of the State of Virginia, party of the first part, and JACOB TRIGG, W. B. LEWIS, JAMES H. HAIRSTON, W. H. HARRIS, ESAW BUFORD, JOSIAH CLARK, JAMES P. CALFEE, ABB. MILLER AND HENRY A PATTERSON, TRUSTEES of the Methodist Episcopal Church, (Colored) of Pulaski, Virginia, and their successors in office, parties of the second part. Witnesseth that, in consideration of the sum of One hundred and fifty (150) Dollars, paid and to be paid as follows, to-wit: Sixty (60) Dollars, cash in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, the remaineder to be paid on or before the 24th day of July, 1900, which deferred installment is evidenced by a promissory note, executed by the parties of the second part, bearing even date herewith, and due on or before the 24th day of July, 1900, with interest at the rate of six per cent, per annum, to secure the payment of which, a vendor's lien is expressly reserved upon the premises hereby conveyed, the said The Pulaski Land and Imp. Co., doth grant, with General warranty of title, unto the said parties of the second part, their successors and assigns forever, all that certain lot or parcel of land in Town of Pulaski, the County of Pulaski, and the State of Virginia, designated and described as follows, to wit: ALL THAT CERTAIN Lot or parcel of land adjoining the two (2) lots heretofore sold to M. M. Stout by this Company, on the South, and the South side of Second Street on the North, and described as follows:- BEGINNING at a stake, which stake being in the North-west corner of a lot conveyed by The Pulaski Land and Improvement Company to said Stout, by deed dated September 28th, 1885. Page 2 State of Pennsylvania County of Philadelphia, to wit: I, Frank M. Wirgman, a notary public for the State and couny aforesaid do certify that J. H. Dingee, President of The Pulaski Land and Improvement Company, whose name is signed to the foregoing deed, dated the Twenty-fourth day of January, Nineteen hundred (1900), has acknowledged the same before me in my county aforesaid, and has further acknowledged and declared that he executed the same as President of the said Company, and for and on behalf of said Company as its act and deed, having, as such President signed his name thereto, and affixed the corporate seal of said Company, and that he has caused the same to be duly attested by J. M. Wirgman, the Secretary of said Company, all of which has been done by him under and pursuant to the authority conferred on him by the Board of Directors of said Company. I do further certify that J. M. Wirgman, the Secretary of The Pulaski Land and Improvement Company, whose name is also signed to the said deed, hereinbefore referred to, has also acknowledged the same before me, in my county aforesaid, and has declared that, by the direction of J. H. Dingee, as President of the said Company, and under and pursuant to the authority conferred by the Board of Directors of said Company, he has duly attested the said deed of said Company, and has signed his name to said attestation.
