Thomas Hurst heirs, 1852 partition This Deed made this 21st day of Augt. 1852 between Nimrod J. Whitaker and his wife Elizabeth of the county of Mercer, Wesley Hurst & wife Charity, James Stone and wife Rhoda, Calvin Hurst & wife Virginia, James Crowell and wife Nancy, Jemima Hurst and Matilda Nester of the county of Pulaski and William Hurst and wife Susan of the county of Mercer of the first and Allen Hurst of the 2d part all of the state of Virginia Witneseth that the said Nimrod J. Whitaker & wife James Stone & wife and William Hurst & wife in consideration of the Sum of two Hundred & 30 Dollars to them paid by the said Allen Hurst and the said Wesley Hurst & wife James Crowell & wife Jemima Hurst, Calvin Hurst & wife and Matilda Nester for & in consideration of the Relinquish to them by him the sd. Allen Hurst of all his undivided Interest in all The Ballance of the lands that his father Thomas Hurst died seized of The said parties as described of the first part, and in consideration of the premises before named doth grant unto him the said Allen Hurst a Certain Tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county of Pulaski on the drains of New River & adjoining the lands of William Odle, John Kelly and others it being the same that said Hurst now lives on and a portion and a portion [sic] of the same Tract of land that Thomas Hurst his Father died in possession of and containing by estimate 120 acres & 9 poles but be the same more or less & bounded as follows. Beginning at a large [not stated] on a ridge on the South side of the Lead mine Road also a Corner to the corner of the land of Wesley Hurst Then N. 20 W 10 po. to a Road and along the same N 65 E10 po. & N 69 E 30 po. then leaving said Road & still with lines of Wesley Hurst N 115 po to three saplings on the top of a ridge S 75 W 12 po. to a Spanish O. S. 25 W 14 po to 2 Dogwoods and a Chestnut O. Sapling S 89 W 13 po to a large Black O. & a Poplar N 82 W 34 po to a large Black O. on the top of a Ridge a corner to the lands of the sd. Wesley Hurst & others then leaving the line of said W. Hurst and the line of N 7 1/2 E 130 to a stake in an old line of the land of the Sd. Thomas Hurst Dec. and with lines of the same S. 34 E. 68 po. to a White O. S. 57 E 38 po to a Black O. on the side of a ridge S. 35 E 890 po to a large Spanish Oak S 22 E 70 po. to 3 Black Oaks from one Root. S 64 W 42 po to a state S. 61 E 62 po. to a Spanish Oak S. 38 W 36 po to a large Stooping forked Black Oak on a Hill side S. 82 E 40 po. to a White O. Service berry and Dogwood on a N Hillside N. 49 E. 50. po to a white O. S. 76. W. 52 po to the Begin[n]ing. And they the said James Stone and wife, Nimrod J. Whitaker & wife (it being their entire undivided interest in and to all of the said Tract of Land that the Thomas died seized of.) Wesley Hurst and wife, James Crowell & wife Jemima Hurst, Calvin Hurst & wife and Matilda Nester doth Covenant to and with him the said Allen Hurst that they will forever warrant and defend the Right and title of the above described land free from all Claims or Claim of them and their heirs forever and against the Claims of all others persons whomsoever Nimrod J.
