Stone/Allison Deed, 1876 This Deed Made this the 18th day of January in the year 1876 between James Stone and Rhoda Stone his wife of the one part and Hyriam Allison of the other part are of the County of Pulaski and State of Virginia witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Five hundred and twelve dollars in hand paid by the said Hyriam Allison to the said James Stone and Rhoda Stone for his wife doth grant unto the said Hyriam Allison a certain parce of land supposed to contain fifteen acres by the same more or less situated in the county of Pulaski and on the banks of New River and bounded as follows to wit: Beginning at a willow on the bank of the River near the mouth of the saw mill branch thence N 33 1/2 degrees W 33 1/2 poles to a ledge of rock thence N 54 W copying the branch at 8 poles continuing the same course 24 poles to the branch thence with the mean due of the branch to said Allisons --?-- thence turn to the left and running with Allisons --?-- to the river and down the river to the beginning. The said Stone and wife doth c--?-- to and with the said Allison that they will warrant generally the title of the above described land free from the claim or claims of themselves their heirs and all persons whomsoever. In witness whereof the said Stone and wife has hereunto set their hands and seals this the 18th day of January 1876. Gardner, Clerk of Pulaski County Court certify that Rhoda Stone the wife of James Stone whose names are signed to the foregoing writing bearing date on the 18th day of January 1876 formally appeared before me in my county aforesaid and being by her examined --?-- and apart from her husband and having the writing aforesaid fully explained to her she the said Rhoda Stone acknowledged the said writing to be of her act and deed and declared that she had willingly executed the --?--.
