Obituary of Mrs. Fanny Anna Knapp, 1971 - Pulaski Co. VA Roanoke Times February 28, 1971 Mrs. Fanny Anna KNAPP, prominent early Pulaskian, of 924 Prospect Ave., died Friday afternoon In Pulaski General Hospital following a brief Illness. Born In Chicago, Ill., the daughter of the late Edmund A. NOYES and Anna WELLS NOYES, she was the widow of Warren Emerson KNAPP, chief chemist at General Chemical Co. Mrs. Knapp was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church; the Round Dozen Club and a past president of the Woman"s Club of Pulaski. She and her husband assisted in founding the PTA in Pulaski County schools. She had served as secretary of religious education in the Southwest Virginia Diocese of the Episcopal Cburch and she was active in various civic affairs of Pulaski. The Pulaskian was chairman of the board of Pulaski County Library and later was a member of the board for many years.. She Is survived by two sons, Benjamin KNAPP, Falls Church, and Emerson KNAPP, Brega, Libya ; four daughters, Miss Caroline KNAPP, Mrs. Roby K. SUTHERLAND and Miss Mary KNAPP, all the of Pulaski, and Mrs. Charles HENSKE, Jacksonville.. Ill,, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today in Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Hugh White officiating. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
