Nickols MARION -- James Daniel "Dan" Nickols, 62, of 422 Baughman Ave., died Monday night, Feb. 17, 2003, in the Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport. He was born in Wythe County on Aug. 23, 1940, and he was the son of the late James Nickols and Beatrice Townsend Nickols. He was a retired employee of Appalachian Power Company. Surviving are wife, Carolyn A. Nickols, Marion; son and daughter-in-law, Michael J. and Nicole Nickols, Mooresville, N.C.; granddaughter, Katelyn Nickols, Mooresville; and one brother, Johnny Nickols, Dublin. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 9 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gerald Meeks and Rev. Pat Gilbert officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from the funeral home from 7 p.m. until the service hour. A graveside service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. from Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, Dublin. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.
