Will of William Breeding , 1872/1874 - Pulaski Co., Virginia ________________________ Know all men by these presents that I Wiliam Breeding of the County of Pulaski andState of Virginia, being of Sound mine but febil in Body do make this my last Will and Testament, revoking all former wills made by me. Wishing to dispose of my property in the following Manner: First I give and bequeath to my wife Charity Breeding a Certain portion of the tract of Land I now live on beginning on the out Side line next to the river 26 poles at a Stake on Sd. Line from the Black Oak and hickory; N 22 W 100 poles Crossing a branch to a large lind {sic] in the head of a hollow; South 65 West 70 poles to a Black Oak on the top of a hill; West 89 poles to two white oaks on the top of a hill; North 75 West 32 poles to a walnut and white oak Sapling on a Stony point South 11 West 126 poles passing one of the Crocketts Corners; 16 poles to two White Oak Spalings in a draft; South 73 East 86 poles to a Spanish Oak on the top of the hill; North 82 East 74 poles to Spanish Oak this Corner is down, and a White Oak nearby marked in its place; now leaving the Outside line fo the Said tract of land heretofore described & running a Straight line to the Stake at the beginning next to the river. I also give and bequeath to my wife five hundred dollars in good money, two horses, four Cows, ten head of Sheep, ten head of hogs; all my wagon Carriage and Gearings, all my Household and chiching furnature; the above land to be Equally divided at my wifes death, between my two grand children Stirling F. Hurst and Charity L. Hurst. I also give to the above named Grand Children at my wifes death, or when they become of lawful age by mariage or otherwise; Each a horse bridle & Saddel worth one hundred and fifty dollars Each; If one or Either of the above named Grand Children should dye without heirs the property of the deeased Shall be Equally divided between my five liveing Children Ep[ink blotch] Quesenberry, Virginia Hurst, A. J. Breeding, W. W. Breeding, L. M. Tipton all of the above named property Not used for the support of my wife At her death it Shall be Equally divided between My above named Children; I also give to my Son W. W. Beeding the plantation he now lives on I also will to my two above named Grand Children Each a bed and bed Clothing or hits worth in money all the remainder of the property real and personal to be Equally divided between my five above named children. I also desire that my Son A. J. Breeding be appinted Executor to my will. I acknowledge this before these witnesses to be my last will and Testament; this January 13th day 1872. The last Will and Testament of William Breeding deceased late of this County, was this day presented in Court and proven by W. J. Quesenbery one of the witnesses thereto, and the Signature or hand Writing of James D. Howard another subscribing witness thereto; by the oath of William Howard and thereupon ordered to be recorded; A. J. Breeding the Executor named in said Will; by writing under his hand provided to the Court and filed; who togehter with John S. Draper: S. Kirby and J. A. Homes; Entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of of [sic] Two Thousand dollars Conditioned according to law; he is permitted to qualify as Executor of the said last will and Testament, and thereupon took the Several oaths required by law; and on his motion the Court did appoint Joseph d. Grahm; James M. Crockett; Wm. Howard and Wm.G. Farris; Appraisers; any three of whom may ast; whose duty it shall be to well and truly appiaise the personal Estate of the Wm Breeding and make their return to this Court on oath. A Copy Teste R. D.
