Will of John Hurst, 1854/55 I John Hurst of the County of Pulaski State of Virginia do hereby make constitute and ordain this my last Will and Testament. 1st I direct that my executor hereinafter named shall after my decease sell all of my lands and my negro man James to the highest bidder on a credit of twelve months. 2nd I give to my daughter Delila Nunn and her heirs for the exclusive benefit of her the sd. Delila and her heirs the sum of two hundred dollars. 3rd. I give to my daughter Elizabeth Herrell and her heirs for the exclusive benefit of her the sd. Elizabeth and her heirs the sum of two hundred dollars. 4th The ballance of my Estate (after paying my just debts, expenses of administration &c.) I direct to be equally divided between my other seven children..or between the survivors and the heirs of those who may be deceased to wit. William Hurst, the heirs of Thomas Hurst decd., Mark Hurst, the heirs of Jesse Hurst Decd., John Hurst, the heirs of Catharine Halley Decd. and Hilliary G. Ashworth, the husband of my daughter Matilda. Lastly I hereby appoint William B. Carnahan executor of this my last Will and Testament.
