Atkins Cemetery Location: On the farm of Joe Anderson, 3 miles from Ben Venue, Virginia. Going from Little Washington, Virginia, leave Route #211 at Ben Venue, Va., and go 3 miles on the farm of Joe Anderson. The cemetery is at the read of the residence. Rappahannock Co., Virginia DATE: Not stated. OWNERS: Mr. Joe Anderson, present owner. (1936) DESCRIPTION: A private cemetery, it is located on the farm of Joseph Anderson, at the rear of his home. Enclosed with a cement wall, it has been nicely cared for. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Only one tombstone with the following inscription: Anderson Born September 15th, 1843 Was Mortally wounded while leading the Sharpshooters in a brilliant charge near Petersburg March 25th, 1865 & died in Richmond April 10th, 1865.
