Atkins Cemetery Location: 1 mile from Flint Hill, Virginia, between Flint Hill and Washington, Virginia Rappahannock Co., Virginia DATE: 1846. Date of the oldest grave. OWNERS: Mrs. F. P. Eastham, present owner. (1936) DESCRIPTION: A private burying ground, located in front of the home. Enclosed by a stone wall, it has been well cared for. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The following inscription was copied from the tombstone: In Memory of Lucy C. Folly Wife of James T. Folly Died June 8th, 1846 Age 19 years, 7 months and six days Tread gently a well loved form rests here one that was treasured and held most dear Tread gently ‘tis the last resting spot of one that by me shall never be forgot.
