Atkins Cemetery Location: Between Flint Hill and Ben Venue, Virginia, on Route #49 Rappahannock Co., Virginia DATE: 1843. Oldest grave. OWNERS: William Sutphin, present owner. (1936) DESCRIPTION: Located on the farm of William Sutphin, it is enclosed by a stone wall. It is a private cemetery and has a number of tombstones. The cemetery has been nicely cared for. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The following inscriptions were copied from the tombstones: In Memory of Henry Beager Born April 15, 1805 Died Dec. 11, 1880 Aged 76 years, 7 months & 20 days In memory of Elias Chapleb Born March 22, 1814 Died Jan. 8, 1843 Nancy Jane daughter of Jas. H. & Elizabeth Latourandois Born Dec. 14, 1844 Died Feb. 9, 1855 20 yrs. 1 month 25 days In memory of Elizabeth consort of Jas. H.
