Atkins Cemetery Location: Laurel Mills, Virginia Rappahannock Co., Virginia DATE: 1824. OWNERS: C. H. Smith, present owner. (1936) DESCRIPTION: A private cemetery located on the top of a hill near the house. Its condition is bad, being rough and grown up with bushes. The stone wall that once enclosed it has fallen down and greatly needs repairing. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The following inscriptions were copied from the stones: Roberta F. Daughter of Benj. & Elizabeth Lillard Died Nov’r 18, 1839 Aged 5 yrs. 8 mo & 3 days For We All Fade As a Leaf. James M. O’Bannon Died Jan’y 20, 1853 Aged 32 years 10 Mos. and 6 Days Sarah A. Daughter of Benj. & Elizabeth Lillard Died Sept. 18, 1835 Aged 14 years, 7 mo. 24 days John R. Son of B. & M. Lillard Died Aug. 4, 1824 Aged 9 mo. & 9 days William M. Son of James M. & Lucy M.
