Atkins Cemetery Location: 2 miles from Amissville, Virginia. Leave Route #211 at Hackly’s store in Amissville, and go 2 miles on a by-road to the cemetery. Rappahannock Co., Virginia DATE: 1852. Oldest grave. OWNERS: Unknown. DESCRIPTION: A private cemetery, it is located in a corner of a large field. Enclosed by a wire fence, it has been nicely kept. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The following inscriptions were coped from the tombstones in this old cemetery: Elizabeth Corbin Born Dec. 12, 1798 Died Dec. 25, 1852 An affectionate Wife a Tender mother a kind mistress a Loving Neighbor.
