Atkins Cemetery Location: East of the town of Amissville, Virginia, on Route #211 Rappahannock Co., Virginia DATE: 1839. The date of the oldest grave. OWNERS: Unknown. DESCRIPTION: A family burying ground, it is enclosed with a stone wall, and has large trees within its bounds. Its present condition is very rough and grown up with bushes. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The following inscriptions were copied from the tombstones: In Memory of Ann Puller consort of John Puller Departed This Life April 21st, A.D. 1839 In the 99th(?) Year of Her Age So Teach Us To Number Our Days That We May Apply Our Hearts To Wisdom, John Puller Born 27th 1774 Married 23rd of April 1772 and Departed This Life 5th March 1818 Think O Mas As Thee Pass By As Thee Art Now, So Once Was I, As I Am Now So Thee Must be, Therefore Prepare to Follow Me.
