Aged 93, Mrs. West was born on March 11, 1917, in Barbours Creek, VA, to the 
late James Madison and Mattie Bell Starks Looney.  She was the widow of John 
Allen Vest.  

Survived by three sons, Rodney Allen Vest and his wife Josephine of Woodville, 
VA; Norman Grady Vest and wife Doris of Flint Hill, VA; and James Michael Vest 
of Virginia Beach, VA.  Also survived by eight grandchildren, fourteen great-
grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.  

A graveside service was held on Friday, August 6, 2010, at the Flint Hill 
Cemetery.  Memorial contributions were requested for St. Jude Children's 
Research Hospital.
