Alexander Fleming and Anthony Hoskins Will dated Sept. 27, 1675. probated June 6, 1677 ( Located in Rappahannock county, Va Wills 1665-1677, Book 1, pg 219) In the name of God Amen. I Lawrence Washington of the county of Rappahannock being sick and weak in body but of sound and perfect memory do make and ordaine this my last will and testament heeby revoking annulling and meking void all former wills and codicils heretofore by me made either by word or writing and this only to be taken for my last will and testament inprimis; I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God hopint and trusting through the mercy of Jesus Christ my savior and redeemer to receive full pardon and forgiveness for all my sinnes and my body to the earth to be buried in a comely and decent manner by my esecutrix hereafter named and for my worldly goods I thus dispose them. I give and bequeath unto my loving daughter Mary Washingto my whole estate in England both reall and peronall to her and the heirs of her body lawfully begotten for ever to be delivered into her possession immediately after my decease by my executrix hereafter named. I give and bequeath unto my aforesaid daughter Mary Washington my smallest stone ring and one silver cup now in my possession to her and her heirs forever to be delivered to immediately after my decease. I give and bequeath unto my loving son John Washington all my bookes to him and his heirs for ever to be delivered to him when he shall come to the age of 21 years. I give and bequeath unto my son John and daughter Ann Washington all the rest of my plate but what is before expressed to be equally divided between them and delivered intheir possession when they come of age. My will is that all my whole estate both real and personall be equally divided between my loving wife Jone Washington and the 2 children God hath given me by her Viz. John and Ann Washington. I give and bequeath it all to them and the heires of their bodies lawfully begotten forever, my sonnes part to be delivered to him when he comes of age and my daughters part when she comes of age or day of marriage which shall first happen. My will is that and which became due to me in right of my wife, lying on the south side of the river formerly belonging to Capt. Alexander Fleming comonly know by the name of Westfalco to be sold by my esecutrix hereafter named for the payment of my debts immediately after my decease. My will is that the land I have formerly entered with Capt. Wm Mosely be forthwith after my decease surveyed and pattented by my executrix hereafter maned and if it shall amount to the quantity of 1000 acres then I shall give and bequeath unto Alexander Barrow 200 acres of sd land to him and his heirs for ever the remainder I give and bequeath unto my loving wife aforsaid and 2 children to them and their heirs forever to be equally divided between them. My will is that it shall please God to take my daughter Mary out of this world before she comes of age or have heirs of her body lawfully begotten then I give and bequeath my land in England which by my will I have given unto her,unto my son John washington and his heirs and the personal estate which I her, I give and bequeath the same unto my daughter Ann Washington and her heirs forefer. I do hereby make and ordaine my loving wife Jone wWashington executrix of this my last will and testament to see it performed and I do hereby make and appoint my dear and loving brother Coll. John Washington and my loving friend Thomas Hawkins (in case of death or neglect of my executrix) to be the overseers and guardians of my children until they come of age to the truth whereof I havae hereunto sett my hand and seale this 27th of September 1675.
