The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ************************************************************************ Peter Northen Deed - August 13, 1811 This indenture made the thirteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eleven and in the thirty-eight year of the Commonwealth, between Thomas Hinds of the County of Richmond, Parish of North Farnham, and State of Virginia of the one part and Peter Northen of the said county of Richmond, Parish of Lunenburg and state aforesaid of the second part. Witnesseth: that the said Thomas Hinds for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and forty six dollars of lawful money of this Commonwealth to him the said Thomas Hinds in hand well and freely paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, he the said Thomas Hinds hath granted, bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant, bargain and sell and sell unto the said Peter Northen , his heirs and assigns a certain tenement, tract or parcel of land, containing by a land survey , forty one acres be the same more or less , situated, being and lying in the aforesaid County of Richmond and Parish of North Farnham, being part of the tract whereon the said Thomas Hinds now lives and bounded as follows: Beginning on the south side of the road leading by Mars Hill gate to Farnham Bridge at the end of a hedge row of cedars. Corner with the said Mars Hill tract now belonging to the said Peter Northen and Elizabeth McCarthy, thence with her lines S48W121 poles to white and thence S29.30E215 poles to another white oak standing on the north east side of the said road leading to Farnham Bridge. Now made corner with the said Thomas Hinds thence along new made lines and corners S58.30E86 poles to a small red oak by the fence side, thence S41.15E12 poles to a cedar, thence N38E10 poles to another cedar, thence S64E17 poles to a stake, thence N39E32 poles to another stake in a ditch or gully, in the line of the said Mars Hill tract, thence with the same N38.30W77 poles to the beginning and also all tress, woods, underwoods, advantages, hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the said tenement, tract or parcel of land above mentioned belonging or in any way appertaining and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, rents, issues and profits of the said premises and of every part and parcel thereof and all the estate right, title, interest, claims and demands whatsoever of him, the said Thomas Hinds of, in and to the said tenement, tract or parcel of land and premises and every part thereof. To have and to hold the said tenement, tract or parcel of land and all and singular other the premises above mentioned and every and every part and parcel thereof, with the appurtenances unto the said Peter Northen , his heirs, and assigns, to the only proper use and behoof of the said Peter Northen, his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Thomas Hinds for himself and for his heirs, the said tenement, tract or parcel of land and premises and every part thereof against him and his heirs and against all and every person and persons whatsoever, to the said Peter Northn, his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
