Deed Robert Fauntleroy Northen and John H. Northen January 1, 1841 Note: Robert Fauntleroy Northen was born December 4, 1821 and his brother, John Henry Northen, was born April 5, 1816. They were the children of Elias Northen and Sally Kennan. "This Indenture made the 1st day of January in the year 1841 between John H. Northen and Robert F. Northen of the County of Westmoreland of the first part and George Hayden of the County of Richmond of the other part. Witnesseth: That the said John H. and Robert F. Northen in consideration of three hundred dollar of lawful money of Virginia to them paid in hand by the said George Hayden at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt of whereof is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold and by these presents do and each of them doth bargain and sell unto the said George Hayden his heirs and assigns, a certain tract or parcel of land and premised containing one hundred and twenty acres more or less lying and being in the County of Richmond and state of Virginia, adjoining the lands of Elizabeth Street, John Thrift and others (it being the same formerly owned by the late Elias and Sally Northen, together with all and singular appurtenances whatsoever to the said land belonging or appertaining to with the same used or enjoyed, and every part and parcel thereof and the reversion or reversions remainder and remainders, yearly and other rents fines and profits thereof, and every part and parcel thereof. To have and to hold the said tract of land with all and singular the premises and appurtenances before mentioned or intended to be bargained and sold and every part and parcel thereof, with all appurtenances and ___ the said George Hayden, his heirs and assigns forever, to and for the only proper used and behoof of him the said George Hayden, his heirs, and assigns forever. And the said John H. Northen and Robert F. Northen for themselves and their heirs, the said tract or parcel of land, with all and singular the premises and appurtenances before mentioned unto the said George Hayden, his heirs and assigns free from the claim or claims of them the said John H. Northen and Robert F. Northen or either of them, their or either of their heirs and of all and every person or persons whatever, shall, will and do warrant and forever defend by these presents. Northen parties to a certain deed bearing date on the 1st day of January 1841, and hereunto annexed, personally appeared before us in our county aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be their act and deed, and desired us to certify the said acknowledgement to the Clerk of Richmond County, in order that it may be recorded.
