The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ************************************************************************ This Indenture made the Twenty Eight day of August in the fifth Year of the Common Wealth of Virginia Anno Domini One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Between John Conoley of the County of Northumberland and Marah his wife of the one Part and George Tillery of the County of Richmond of the other Part Witnesseth that the said John Conoley and Marah his wife, for and In consideration of the sum of Three Hundred Pounds Current Money of Virginia to the said John Connolly in hand Paid by the said George Tillery at or before the Ensuing and Delivery of these Presents the Receipt Whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge and of Every part thereof doth for Ever Acquit and Discharge the said George Tillery his Heirs Executors and Administrators have given Granted Bargained Sold Enfeoff Convey and Confirmed and by these the said John Conoley and Marah his Wife do for themselves their Heirs Executors and Administrators fully and Absolutely give grant Bargain Sell Enfeoff Convey and Confirm unto the said George Tillery his Heirs and assigns Certain Track or parcel of Land Situate and lying in the County of Richmond and bounded as followeth Beginning at a large Red Oak standing by the Main Road from thence by the line of Marked Tree that Divides this Land from the land of George Hunts to William Deavenports Corner from thence by the said Deavenports lines To Hennery Tapscotts land formerly belonged to the said Tillery from thence by the said Tapscots line of Marked Trees to a Branch that Divides this land from the Land of Joseph Hazard. Thence up the Branch to a gulley thence up the gulley to a Red Oak standing by the Main Road Corner Tree to Joseph Hazards land and this land from thence down the Main Road to the Begining (sic) Oak Including Thirty Acres of Land be the same more or less with all houses orchards Gardens Buildings Edifices Trees Timbers woods underwoods Swamps Meadows Meadow Grounds ways Water Ways Profits Commodities Emoluments Hereditiments and Appertenances there Unto Belong or in any ways Appertaining and all the Right Title Interest Property Claims and Demands whatsoever of them the said John Connolly and Marah his wife in and to the same and Every part Thereof To have and to hold the said hereby Granted Parcel of Land and Premises with all and singular its appertenances Unto the said George Tillery his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever. To his and their only Proper use and Behoof and to no other Use Intent or purpose whatsoever and the said John Conoley doth for himself his Heirs Executors and Administrators hereby Covenant Promise and Grant to and with the said George Tillery that the said George Tillery his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns and ever of them shall and may from time to time and at all times for ever Hereafter quiet and Peaceably Possess occupy and Enjoy the said hereby granted parcel of Land and Premises with all and Singular its appertenances and Every part and Parcel and the same will for ever hereafter warrant and Defend Against the Claim Sell Interuption or Molestation of him the said John Conoley his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns and Every of them and all and Every other Person or Persons Whatsoever and the said John Conoley doth for himself his Heirs Executors Administrators hereby further Covenant Promise and Grant to and with the said George Tillery that the said John Conoly his Heirs Executors and Administrators and Every of them shall and will from time to time and at all times hereafter when There unto Required by the said George Tillery his heirs Executors administrators and Assigns make and Execute or Cause to be Made done and Executed such Further Deed or Deeds or other Conveyances in the Law for the more secure Conveying a Fee simple Estate in the said hereby granted Parcel of Land and Premises and Every Part thereof Unto the said George Tillery his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns as he or they shall require so that the same be done at this or their on Proper costs and Charges in the Law In Witness where of the said Parties to these Presents have Interchangeably set their hands and seals the day and year first above Written Signed Sealed and Delivered In Presents of John Connolly Eppy Tillery Mary Connolly Thomas (?) Received the day and date within Mentioned George Tillery Three Hundred Pounds Current Money it being the Three Hundred Pounds mentioned in the within Indenture Signed sealed and Delivered John Conoley In Presents of Vincent Garland William Fergusson Thomas Beale Junior Memorandum That on the day of the Date of the within Indenture quiet and Peaceably and Livery of Seison of the within mentioned Parcel of Land and Premises was made and given by the within John Conoley unto the within named George Tillery by the Delivery of (?) to have and to hold according to the tenner of the within Indenture. Signed Sealed and Delivered In Presence of John Connolly Vincent Garland William Fergusson Thomas Beale Junior At A Court held for Richmond County the 5th day of March 1781. This Deed of (?) from John Connolly and Mary his wife of the one part to George Tillery of the other Part with the Memorandum and Receipt thereon Indorsed was Acknowledged in open Court by the said John & admitted to Record Test LeRoy Peachey
