The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ************************************************************************ Coleman to Connolly This Indenture made the thirty first day of August in the eighth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the faith and in the year of our Lord Christ one Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty eight Between Thomas Coleman and Betty his wife of the County of Richmond of the one Part and George Connolly of the County of Lancaster of the other Part. Witnesseth that the said Thomas Coleman and Betty his Wife for and in Consideration of the sum of seventy five Pounds current money in Hand Paid by the said George Connolly, before the sealing and Delivery of these Presents the receipt Whereof the said Thomas Coleman Doth Hereby acknowledge and of Every Part thereof Doth Hereby forever acquit and Discharge the said George Connolly his Heirs executors and administrators Have Granted Bargained and Sold alien Transfer convey and Confirm unto the said George Connolly his Heirs executors administrators and assigns forever one moietic of a Certain tract or Parcell of Land Purchased of William Glascocke Gent. By Deed Bearing Date on or about the thirty first Day of March last Situate and lying in the aforesaid County of Richmond on the Branches of Totuskey surveyed by Mr. William Miskell on the 15th of June last the Whole tract or Parcell containing three Hundred & fifty acres more or less relation to the said Deed and Platt being had may (illegible) fully appear which said moiety or Half Part of the above said tract or Parcell of Land Being about the Quantity of one Hundred Seventy-five acres of Land as by a Dividing Line Laid Down in the said Plat has made an Equal Division thereof Together With All Houses Buildings Gardens orchards Trees Timbers Fences inclosures Woods underwoods Swamps marshes meadows Grounds Ways Water Watercourses Profits commodities emolluments hereditaments and appurtenances Whatsoever to the said Hereby Granted Parcel or tract of land containing one Hundred Seventy five (illegible) it more or less (according to the above Said Dividing line) belonging or in anywise appertaining With all The rights title Interest Claim and Demand Whatsoever of them the said Thomas Coleman and Betty his Wife of in & to the same and every Part thereof To Have and To Hold the Said Herby Granted tract or Parcel of land and Promises With all Singular the rights members and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining and every Part and Parcell thereof unto the said George Connolly his Heirs & assignees forever to his and their only Proper use and behoof and to none other use intent or Purpose Whatsoever and the said Thomas Coleman doth for himself his Heirs executors and administrators Herby covenant Promise and Grant to and With the said George Connolly that he the said George Connolly his Heirs & assigns and every of them Shall or may at all Times forever Hereafter Quietly and Peaceably have hold occupy and Possess and enjoy The said Granted or Hereby meant to be Granted Parcel of land and Promises With all and Singular the rights members and appurtenances Whatsoever thereunto Belonging or in anywise appertaining and Every Part and Parcel thereof and The same Shall and will forever Hereof Warrant and forever Defend against The lawfull claim molestation interruption or Demand of him the said Thomas Coleman his Heirs Executors administrators and assigns and every of Them and of every Person or Persons Whatsoever claiming by from or under him or them or any of them and the Said Thomas Coleman doth for himself His Heirs Executors and administrators Hereby further covenant Promises and Grant to and With the Said George Connolly that he the Said Thomas Coleman his Heirs Executors & administrators Shall and Will at all times Hereafter When thereunto required make do and execute or cause to be made Done and executed Such further act or acts Deeds or conveyances for the further And more Sure conveying the Said Hereby Granted Parcel of land and Promises unto the Said George Connolly his Heirs Executors administrators & assigns that the same be done at the Proper Courts and Charges of him the said George Connolly, his Heirs or assigns of that the Said Thomas Coleman and his wife Betty Shall before some court to be held for Richmond County acknowledge These Presents With his Wife Betty in a Legal manner In Witness Whereof the Said Parties to these Presents have interchangeably Set their Hands and Seals this day and year first above Written Signed Sealed & Delivered in Presents of Jesse Bryant Elen Tomson Ammoney Elmore Thomas Coleman Betty Coleman Received the Day of the date of the Within Indenture of the Within Named George Connolly the sum of Seventy-five Pounds Current money in full Satisfaction for The within mentioned Granted Parcell of Land and Promises Witnesses Present: Jesse Byrant Ammoney Elmore Ellen Tomson At a Court Held for Richmond County The 3rd Day of October 1768 This Deed of Bargain and Sale from Thomas Coleman and Betty his Wife of the one Part to George Connolly of The other Part With the receipt thereon Indorsed Was acknowledged in open Court by the said Thomas Coleman and ordered to be Recorded Previous to Which the said Betty, being first Privatly (sic) Exammined (sic) freely relinquishes her right of Dower in the land Promises Hereby conveyed.
