The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ************************************************************************ Lease Moore Fauntleroy to Peter Northen September 13, 1792 This indenture made the thirteenth day of September on the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety two between Moore Fauntleroy Esquire of the one part and Peter Northen Planter of the County of Richmond of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Moore Fauntleroy for the rents hereafter mentioned do by these presents give, grant, bargain and lease into the said Peter Northen, his heirs and assigns for and during the tem of twenty years to be fully completed and ended from and after the first day of January next ensuing the date hereof from which time the said twenty years is to commence. All that tract, parcel and lott of land containing three hundred thirty three acres or thereabouts it being the same lott or tenement of land which was lately leased and in the possession of Benjamin Branham it being a part of the tract called and known by the name of the Island which said lott or [parcel of land with all privileges, houses, orchards, fencing, woods and the privileges of getting timber off any other part of the said tract of land that shall be for the necessary repairing and building houses, making tobacco hogsheads for the crops of tobacco, fencing and to have a proper cart road through the other land to and from the said lott or tenement of land to the main road the said Northen stocks to have the use of the barge in the marshes and the said Northen to cut what hay he may think proper for his own use. Unto the said Pete Northen, his heirs and assigns for and during the aforesaid twenty years, he and they paying yearly and every year on the premises into granary's to be prepared by the said Moore Fauntleroy {illegible} reasonable notice of such payment unto the said Moore Fauntleroy, his heirs and assigns one full third part of all the crops which he the said Northen, his heir and assigns may raise on the said tenement yearly of Indian corn, wheat, oats, rye, barley, corn, blades, tops and shucks and one full third part of the crop of tobacco to be paid yearly in lawful inspected tobacco notes. He the said Peter Northen, his heirs and assigns paying the annual publick tax for the said three hundred thirty three acres of land and a proportion of the marsh. Now it is that the said Moore Fauntleroy and Peter Northen for a full and faithfull performance of this lease do hereby bind themselves and their heirs, executors, administrators and assigns each to the other in the final sum of two hundred pounds current money of Virginia at its present circulating value. In witness whereof the parties have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above mentioned.
