Send greetings in our Lord God Everlasting. Whereas Jeffery Johnson of ye County of Stafford upon his suggestion of a certain quantity of land belonging to me in ye County of Richmond which is not yett granted did on ye 9th day of May 1711 obtain a warranty from my office for laying out the same and having returned a survey thereof under ye hand of Mr. Thomas Hooper Surveyor Know yee therefore that I for and in consideration of ye compensition paid and the annuall rent hereafter reserved have granted made over and confirmed and by these present do grant make over and confirm unto ye said Jeffery Johnson two hundred and thirty two acres of land situate lying and being on ye Marsh Run said Marsh Run Madeth -ueth out of ye North side of Rappahannock River about thirty miles above the falls thereof in ye County of Richmond. Aforesaid and bounded according to ye said survey as followeth; viz: Beginning at a marked hickory standing on a leavill on the east side of ye upper or north little marsh and extending thence south few four degrees east eighty five pole to a white oak thence north seventy nine degrees east one hundred twenty four pole to a red oak thence north thirty degrees east one hundred pole to a white oak thence north sixty five degrees east one hundred and six pole to a Spanish oak thence north ninety six pole to a small white oak standing in ye said upper Marsh Run thence down ye said Run south sixty four degrees west two hundred and fifty six pole to white oak thence south fifty two degrees west one hundred and eighty two pole to ye begining. Together with any members and Appurtenaces thereunto belonging Royall Mines excepted and of full third part of all lead copper tinn coals and iron mines that shall be found thereon to have and to hold the said two hundred and thirty two acres of land together with all rights profitts and benefitts to ye same belonging or in any wise appertaining except before excepted to him ye said Jeffrey Johnson his heirs and assigns for ever He ye said Jeffrey Johnson his heirs and assigns therefore yeilding and paying to me my heirs and assigns or to ye certain attorney or attorneys me ye said propriety or to ye certain attorney or attorneys of my heirs and assigns propriety of ye said Northern Neck yearly and every year on the feast of St Michaell ye said quit rent of one shilling sterling money for every fifty acres of land hereby granted provided yet if ye said Jeffrey Johnson his heirs and assigned shall not pay in before the lease annuall rent so yet the same or any part thereof shall be behind or unpaid by ye space of two whole years after ye same shall become due if lawfully demanded yet then unpaid and may be lawfull for me my heirs and assigns certain attorneys or agents into the above granted premises to re enter and hold ye same to as if this grant had never been given at my office in Lancaster County with in my said proprietary under my seal witness my agent and attorney fully authorized thereto dated ye twentyeth day of July in ye Eleventh year of ye Reign of our Sovereign Lady Anne of Great Brittain Ffiance and Ireland Queen Defender of ye faith anno dom A.D. 1712 Jeffery Johnson his deed for 232 acres of Land in Richmond County.
