The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ************************************************************************ William Northen - Peter Northen Deed - January 29, 1795 This indenture made the twenty ninth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety five and in the year of the Commonwealth of Virginia, between William Northen and Dorcas, his wife, of the County of Frederick of the one part and Peter Northen of the County of Richmond of the other part. Witnesseth that the said William Northen and Dorcas, his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of fifteen pounds current money of Virginia to us in hand paid by the said peter Northen, the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge, hath given, granted, bargained and sold, aliended and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, and sell, alien and confirm unto the said Peter Northen, his heirs and assigns forever all that messuage, tenement, tract or parcel of land (which the said William Northen, elder son of Edmund Northen, who was elder son of William and Abigail Northen, all deceased, the said Abigail grand mother of the present William having had a right to, a moiety or half part of one messuage, tenement tract or parcel of seventy five acres of land as appears by a late survey, formerly the property of Edward Minty, deceased father of the said Abigail, called or known by the name of Minty=s or Jack=s). The said moiety or half part, thirty seven and half acres of land, situated, lying and being in the County of Richmond, Parish of Lunenburg and adjoining the lands of said Peter Northen, Reverend Mr. Giberne and William Alderson=s estate and all the lands, trees, woods, underwoods, pastures, marshes and meadows, profits, advantages, buildings, yards, gardens, hereditaments, ways, water, water courses and appurtenances whatsoever, the said messuage, tenement, tract or parcel of land and premises above mentioned, belonging or in any ways appertaining and also the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, rents and devices of the said premises and of every part and parcel thereof and all the estate, right, title, interest, claim, and demand whatsoever of them the said William Northen and Dorcas, his wife, in and to the said messuage, tenement and premises and every part thereof. To have and to hold the said messuage or tenement and all and singular the said premises above mentioned or intended to be mentioned and every part of parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the said Peter Northen, his heirs and assigns to their proper use and behoof of the said Peter Northen, his heirs and assigns forever and the said William Northen and Dorcas, his wife, for themselves and their heirs, the said messuage or tenement or premises and every part thereof, against them and their heirs and against all and every other person and persons whatsoever to the said Peter Northen, his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend by these present, they the said William Northen and Dorcas, his wife, doth further covenant, grant and agree to and with the said Peter Northen, his heirs and assigns that they will make, do and execute lawful act or acts , conveyances and assurances in the law for the more sure making and conforming of the said bargained premises to the said Peter Northen, is heirs and assigns, when thereunto required as by him and them or his or their council, learned in the Law, be devised, advised or required.
