The submitter has given permissionto the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Source: Library of Virginia Digital Collection Goodwin, Edward Pen. 160 1787-1792 Soldier, Colonel Washington's Command-French and Indian War Richmond County At a Court of Quarterly Session cont'd and held for Richmond County at the Court House of the said County on Tuesday the 8th day of May 1787: On the Representation of Edward Goodwin, a pensioner, of the Certificate of his identity and Infirmities lately obtained from this Court has been lost or mislaid so that it has not been found to the Board of Auditors whereby he understands that he had been struck off the pension list. It is therefore ordered that the Clerk of the Court furnish him with another copy and further certifie that the said Goodwin is still living on the description of those by law entitled to a Continuance of a Pension. Copy Teste: LeRoy Pensho(y) I do, with the advice of Council, hereby certify that Edward Goodwin, about 70 years of age, was disabled by a wound he received in the Shoulder in an action under General (then Col. Washington the war before the last and he is entitled to the sum of ten pounds yearly; to commence on the first day of January 1786. Given under my hand as Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, at Richmond,this 10th day of December 1787. T.
