Will of Catherine Alderson, 1841 - Richmond Co., VA In the name of God Amen. I Catherine Alderson of the County of Richmond and parish of Luninburg in the state of Virginia being weak in body but of good and sound memory thank be to almighty god for the same and calling to Remembrance the immortality of my body and knowing it is appointed for all once to die do make and ordain this writing to be my last will and testament in the manner and form as followth. First I will that all my just debts and funeral expences be punctually paid out of my estate as soon as may be convenant after my decease. Imprenus (?) I give unto my daughter Nancy Delanoe other wise Nancy Alderson and my daughter Catharine Hutson my stock of cattle hogs and of all kinds of stock that I may posess at my death & all my house hold and kitchen furniture farming utention (utensils) & to be equally divided between them my land and servants Tom & Betty I----- unto my first three children to wit, my son John Alderson & William Alderson, Polly Courtney which would be theirs of course. My will and desire is that my apparel shall be equally divided between my daughters Polly Courtney Nancy & Kitty. And what money I should leave I wish to be equally divided between Nancy & Kitty. I do appoint my son John Alderson executor to this my last will and testament disannulling and revoking all and every other will or wills made by me heretofore either by word of mouth or in writing. In ---- hereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal this 31st July one thousand eight hundred and forty one. Signed sealed and acknowledged in presence of us.
