VA Will Book 9, 1794 - 1822 (Indexed) Library of Virginia Microfilm Reel 25 Page 214 I William Clark Jr. of the County of Richmond ofarnham parish being of sound & perfect mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament and desire it may be recevd. as such. I lend to my Wife Lucy Clark the whole of my estate lands, negroes &c during her widowhood and no longer. Item I give and bequeath to my Sun Roadman Clark all my lands to him and his heirs forever after the widowhood or death of my wife. Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Susanna Clarke one forth of the residue of my estate after the death of my wife or her marriage to her and her heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Lucy Clarke one forth of the residue of my estate to her and her heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Salla Clarke one forth of the residue of my estate to her and her heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath to my Sun Samuel Clarke what was left of his grandfather William [illegible] to him and his heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath to my two Suns Samuel Clarke & Roadman Clarke one forth of the residue of my estate after the death of my wife or her marrage to them and their heirs forever. I appoint my wife Lucy Clarke and Mr. George Christopher of this my last will and testament. As witness my hand and seal this [4?] day of June 18 hundred and two ~ Signd Seald & delivd. in presence of William Clarke Jr. John Hughes Robert Clarke William (his X mark) Clarke Senr At a Court held for Richmond County the 6th day of June 1803. This last will and testament of William Clarke Jr. decd was presented in court by Lucy Clarke the widow of the said decd. and executrix therein named and being proved by the oaths of Robert Clarke and William Clarke [Sr?] two of the witnesses to the same subscribed was admitted to record. And on the motion of the said Lucy Clarke who took the oath of an executrix and entered into bond with security according to law.
