Will of William Crewdson, 1775 - Richmond Co., VA Will Book 7, Pg. 185 & 186 In the name of God amen, I WILLIAM CREWDSON sen'r of Lunenburg Parish and County of Richmond, being of sound and Disposing mind and memory but calling to mind the frailty and uncertainty of this Life and that it is appointed for all once to Die, Doe therefore make this my last will and Testament in manner following that is to say Imprimis I Recommend my soul into the hands of almighty god my Creator hoping for Remission of sins through the mediator of my Blessed Redeemer Jesus Christ and my body to the Earth there to be buried at the Discreation of my Executors hereafter named, as touching my wourldly Effects I give and Dispose as followeth, Item my will is after all my just debts are paid~ Item I Give unto my beloved wife ELENOR CREWDSON and my son JAMES CREWDSON and my son WILLIAM CREWDSON and my daughter MARY FRARY to be Equally Divided all my book Debts bills and bonds with Europeon goods as I may be posseded with at my Decease, Item I Give unto my son JOHN CREWDSON the sum of one shilling sterling as his Part or share of my whole Estate Both Real and personal~ Item I Give and bequeath unto my son JAMES CREWDSON my watch Item I Give unto my son WILLIAM CREWDSON two Silver Castors Marked J. M. B. and one silver mugg marked M. B. to my son WILLIAM CREWDSON Item I Give unto my Daughter MARY FRARY one cow & Calf Item I leave to my beloved Wife ELENOR CREWDSON my land as Long as she shall Remain a widow and if she should marry again at Dec. I give to my son WILLIAM CREWDSON my Land as I bought of BENJ BURBRIDGE Item my will and Desire is that my said wife may have the use of the aforesaid Land as Long as she shall Remain a widow all my household Furniture with stock of Cattle Hogges and Horses or mares and sheep with all utensils but if in case she shall marry again or Die my Desire is that all my Household furniture, Stock of cattle sheep hogges or mares or servants Either_____Women servants may be equally divided as aforesaid, Except JOHN HAMMOND TYNE as afore Bound to BILLEY CREWDSON____Constitute and appoint my son JAMES CREWDSON and my son WILLIAM CREWDSON and my friend JAMES KELLEY and NATHANIEL MOTHERSHEAD my whole and sole Executors, I Revoke all former wills that before by me made, and I acknowledge this to be my Last will and testament.
