I, James Strother being sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given to God for it, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form of following: I give and bequeath my soul to God who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried at the discretion of my executor. My will is that my debts and funeral charges be first paid, and for what worldly estate it hath pleased God to bless me with, all I give and bequeath to my brother Joseph Strother, both real and personal, to him and his heirs forever. And I do ordain and appoint my brother Joseph Strother my full and sole executor of this my last will and testament. As witness, my hand this 5th day of January in the year of our Lord 1710.
