Richmond County, Virginia Will Book 9, 1794 - 1822 Library of Virginia Microfilm Reel 25 Page 56 In the name of God Amen I Anthony Tune of Richmond County and Parish of North farnham being weak of body but in perfect mind and memory Blessed be Almighty God for the same do make and Publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following first of all I do give my Soul to Almighty God that gave it first to me and my body to be buryed in a Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executors hereafter mentioned and as for my worldly Goods which it hath been pleased God to bestow on me I do dispose of in the following manner Vizt First I Give and bequeath unto my loving Wife Nancy Tune my Negro Woman Betty and Child Salley Carter and my Negro Girl [Mima?] one Bed and furniture one brass Kettle and one large Chest to her and her heirs forever - Item I do give and bequeath to my Brother Jesse Tune my Negro Man Dick to him and his heirs forever - Item It is my Will and desire that all the remainder of my Estate not mentioned before be Sold to pay all my Just Debts and if there should not be enough to pay them it is then my desire that Dick shall be hired out before he is in the possission of my Brother Jesse Tune untill all my Debts are paid - And if any thing be remaining after my Debts are paid it is my Will and desire that my loving wife Nancy Tune shall have the same she and her heirs forever - And lastly, I do nominate Constitute and appoint my friends Capt. Richard Smither and Colo. George Glascock my hole and Sole Executors to this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this 18th day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Ninety five - 1795. Interlined before Signed the words shall be the my/ Signed Sealed and Delivered in the presence of Anthony (his X mark) Tune John Gordon - Peter Barnes At a Court held for Richmond County the fifth day of Launcelot Smither December 1796 James Booth This last Will and Testament of Anthony Tune decd. was presented in Court by Richard Smither one of the Executors therein named, who refused to qualify to the Same, and it Appearing to the Court that George Glascock the other Executor named in the said Will also refuses to qualify, and the same being proved by the Oaths of Peter Barnes and Lancelot Smither two of the Witnesses thereto was admitted to Record.
