RICHMOND, VA - DEEDS - Esme Smock to John Fox, 2 Nov 1809 (partial) --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- THIS INDENTURE made the second day November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nine BETWEEN Esme Smock (could be Lmock) of the City of Richmond of the first part, John Fox of the same place of the second part and Robert Gordon, James Currie and George Pickett of the same place of the third part. WHEREAS the said Robert Gordon, James Currie and George Picett have this day become indorsers of two negotiable notes each for the payment of fifteen hundred dollars, which notes are given to John G. Woodfoth of the County of Caroline, payable the first twelve months after date, the second twenty-four months after date negotiable in the Bank of Virginia and the said Esme Smock, being anxious and willing to secure the said Robert Gordon, James Currie and George Pickett, against any rick, loss or injury to them and against the payment of the said Notes or any part or parcel thereof, and also.....
