"The Times" (Richmond, VA), Thurs., Dec. 5, 1901, p. 10, col. 3
  Mr. Samuel D. Turner died yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock at his home near 
Highland Springs, in the seventieth year of his age. 

  The funeral services will take place at the home to-morrow afternoon at 2:30 
o'clock.  Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Chesterfield Co. native. 
bro Capt. Richard R. Turner of Isle of Wight Co. died the next day. 
bro Chas. Beverly Turner was murdered in Isle of Wight Co. 27 Dec 1899 by 
Andrew Carter "Nick" Gilligan.
