RICHMOND, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - Dacre Clemetson, 18 Feb 1806 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, I Dacre Clemetson from the Kingdom of Great Britain but now a resident in the state of Virginia in North America, although extremely weak in body still preserve a sound mind do constitute and make this instrument of writing my Last Will and Testament, to wit: Item 1st I freely resign my soul to the supreme ruler of the universe to dispose of agreeably to his infinite goodness and mercy. Item 2nd, my body I give to the earth but to be interred in a plain decent manner. Item 3rd, It is my particular wish and desire that my Executors hereafter named shall dispose of my share of stock in the Bank of Virginia for the best price that can be obtained for ready money and also to receive my dividend of four dollars on the aforesaid share likewise to dispose of my personal property at their discretion (except my silver watch which I give and bequeath to my nephew Willford Clemetson) and after defraying my funeral expences and all my just debts to remit the residue to my most tender affectionate and loving mother Mary Clemetson in White Haven in the Kingdom of Great Britain. Item 4th, I give and bequeath to Joseph Jackson for his attention towards me, my walking cane mounted with silver with my enetials engraved on the head as a token of remembrance. 5th Item, I give and bequeath to my nephew Wilford Clemetson after the decease of my dear mother Mary Clemetson, besides the silver watch above mentioned, all the property I may now have or whatever may hereafter be left to me, my heirs, Executors or assigns to my said nephew Wilford Clemetson and his heirs and assigns forever, for his kind and generous treatment towards my mother when whe wanted comfort. And lastly, I appoint my friends Mr. John Foster and Mr., Joseph Darmsdall both of the City of Richmond my Executors to carry into effect this my Last Will and Testament. Given under my hand and seal this eighteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and six. This Will was proved by the oath of Joseph Jackson, a witness thereto and ordered to be recorded. Whereupon Joseph Darmsdall, one of the Executors therein named, personally appeared in court and renounced the execution thereof. And on the motion of John Foster, the other Executor named in the said Will who made oath thereto according to law and with the said Joseph Darmsdall his security entered into and acknowledged their bond in the penalty of four hundred dollars conditioned as the law directs, Certificate is granted him for obtaining a Probat thereof in due form.
