Roanoke Co., Virginia DATE: 1872, date of the oldest grave (marker). OWNERS: Keagy Family. (1937) DESCRIPTION: The Benjamin Keagy Cemetery is private. One part of it is fenced and is well kept. The other part is not well kept and is not fenced. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: This cemetery is near the old Zion Lutheran Church on the Lee Highway between Roanoke and Salem. This church seems to have been built near 1826. Benjamin Keagy July 22, 1816 Mar. 26, 1872 Catherine Keagy Feb. 19, 1815 Mar. 28, 1877 In all probability, several persons were buried here before 1860. Many graves are to be found but not marked.
