Roanoke Co., Virginia DATE: 1800, date of oldest grave. OWNERS: Woods Family. DESCRIPTION: The Woods Cemetery is both private and public. It contains many old graves and early settlers are buried here. It is fenced but part of it is not well kept. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Joseph Woods by will of March 31, devises his property to Pricilla, his wife. Christy Latimer married Martha Glen in 1820. Jacob Doosing settled in Roanoke County in 1797, his son William was born in 1800 and died 1863. Inscriptions: Joseph Woods Died June 16, 1848 In 77th yr.
