ROANOKE COUNTY, VA - OBITUARIES - Bertha Sue Fisher, 19 Jan 1999 ----¤¤¤---- "Fisher, Bertha Sue, 85, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 1999. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Fannie Jamison; sisters, Cassie Garst and Lila Huffman; her first husband, George E. Floyd; her second husband of over 50 years, Earl Russell Fisher; sons, George E. Floyd Jr. and Monte E. Floyd; a daughter, Carol F. Deaton; grandson R. Wesley Helm Jr.; two infant grandchildren. She was one of the oldest members of Enon Baptist Church, an excellent seamstress, a prize winning quilt maker and an excellent cook. She was a loving mother who will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, John D. and Betty Floyd, Maurice A. and Laurie Fisher; daughters and sons-in-law, Roma A. and Paul Raymond Myers, Nancy and Robert W. Helm, son-in-law, W. Reid Deaton; daughters-in-law Elizabeth (Betty) Floyd and Jeannetta Fisher; sister-in-law, Elva and husband Thornton Jett; 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursay, January 21, 1999, at Oakey's North Chapel with Rev. Troy E. Mays officiating. The interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
