ROANOKE COUNTY, VA - OBITUARIES - Earl Russell Fisher, 2 Mar 1998

"Fisher, Earl Russell, 83, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, March 2,
1998.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd R. and Elva Stone
Fisher; his first wife, Jessie Saunders Fisher; daughter, Carol L. Deaton;
son, Monte E. Floyd; grandson, R. Wesley Helm Jr; and two infant
grandchildren.  He is survived by his wife, Bertha Sue Fisher; sons and
daughters-in-law John D. and Betty Floyd, Maurice A. and Laurie Fisher;
daughters and sons-in-law, Roma A. and Paul Raymond Myers, Nancy and Robert
W. Helm; son-in-law, W. Reid Deaton; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth (Betty)
Floyd; a brother, Archie Fisher; sisters, Nettie Blakenship and Elva and
husband Thornton Jett; 19 grandchidren, 24 great-grandchildren; two
great-great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.  Funeral
services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 1998, at Oakey's North
Chapel with Rev. Troy E. Mays and Rev. Charles A. Watkins officiating.
Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.  The family will
recieve friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Oakey's North
Chapel.  In lieu of flwoers donations may be made to the Roanoke County
Rescue Squad No. 5."
