Will of Ann E. (Eliza) Stevens, c1916 - Roanoke Co. VA Will Book II pp 405-406 I, Ann E. Stevens of Roanoke County, being of sound mind and deposing memory, do hereby declare the following as and for my last will and testament. First, I do hereby direct my executor to pay my burial expenses and any debts I may owe at my death out of my personal estate. Second,I own in fee simple 5/6 undivided interest in and to a certain farm whereon I now reside, situate on Peter's Creek and the Salem and Lynchburg Turnpike in Roanoke County,Virginia, the other 1/6 undivided interest is owned by my son-in-law C. A. Alford, subject to my life estate therein. The said 5/6 in the said farm I do hereby devise, bequeath, and give the same as follows, to wit: one of the said 5/6 to my daughter Sarah Sue Stevens,wife of Eugene Boon; one of said 5/6 I do give devise and bequeath to my son George A. Stevens; one of said 5/6 I do give devise and bequeath to my son William H. Stevens; one of the said 5/6 to E. Bascom Stevens, each of the said sons taking his said interest in fee simple; and the remaining 1/6 to daughter Mary J. Stevens Alford, wife of the said C. A. Alford,likewise in fee simple, provided however the provision of clause 3 hereof are agreed to by the said C. A. Alford and my said daughter Mary J. Alford. But should they or either of them refuse to abide by the provisions thereof, then the said interest in ths clause devised to my said daughter Mary J. Stevens should at her death go to, in fee simple, the said Sarah Sue Boon, George A. Stevens, W. H. Stevens, E. Bascom Stevens and my son Charles R. Stevens share and share alike. The siad mary J.
