Roanoke Times, The (VA) - September 8, 1999 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Deceased Name: OBIT - COOPER, CHARLES MCKENNY, ("KENNY") COOPER, Charles McKenny, ("Kenny"), 49, of Roanoke County, left us to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 7, 1999 at his home. He was the owner of CMC Construction and was listed in the directory of "Who's Who" for the year 2000. Kenny was preceded in death by his stepfather, Cecil Firebaugh and is survived by his wife, Sheila Bower Cooper; his son and daughter-in-law, C. W. and Liz Cooper, Wirtz; his wonderful granddaughters, Lauren Whitney and Autumn Nicole Cooper.; his mother and stepfather, Frances S. and Carl Pruett, Stewartsville; his brothers, Buddy Cooper and wife, Anita, Salem, Bill Cooper, Roanoke; his sisters, Joyce Kasey and husband, James, Roanoke, Darlene Shelor and husband, Bob, Seminole, Fla.; numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; special caregivers, Amanda Kasey, Doris Darnell and James Haggerty, Jr.; special friends, Vickie and Ernie Campbell, Brenda Trent, Richard Ferguson, Jerry and Jimmy Boggs, Naomi and Becky. Kenny was a great person and will be missed by family and friends. A funeral service will be held at Oakey's South Chapel Thursday, September 9, 1999 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Joe Dillon officiating. Interment in Fair View Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Bruce Stelmack, Dr. Ralph Dunker, Dr. Joseph Smith, Dr. Michael Koch and Carol Glover, R.N. for all their warm caring, concern and compassion during his sickness. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's South Chapel.
