Roanoke Times, The (VA) - August 13, 1994 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Deceased Name: STULTZ STULTZ, Lawrence F., 77, of Roanoke, went to be with his saviour, Friday, August 12, 1994, after a lengthy illness with leukemia. He owned and operated the L.F. Stultz Plumbing and Heating for 46 years and the Sun Valley Swim Club and Camp Ground for 21 years. He was a Sergeant during World War II, and served in the Philippines and New Caledonia in Japan. He was camp plumber on land and sea. He was a faithful member of the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church and United Workers Sunday School Class. He was chosen Outstanding Man of the Year by the church in 1987 and was a life member of V.F.W. Post #4522 of Vinton. Lawrence was born April 23, 1917; he was preceded in death by his father, Archie M. Stultz, mother, Alice Day Stultz, and brother, Alfred Stultz. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his devoted wife, Lucille Hogan Stultz, who he married August 4, 1939; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Ray Fink of Goodview; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Linda Myers Stultz, of Roanoke; granddaughter and husband, Robin Hylton Mills and Spencer Mills of Goodview; two grandsons, Troy and Darel Stultz of Roanoke; two great-grandsons, James (Jamie) Robert Dickerson Mills, and Jody Alan Mills of Goodview; one stepgrandson, Jacob Fink of Goodview; five brothers, Warren Stultz and wife, Geneva, Cecil Stultz, Cletus Stultz, Roy Stultz, and Archie (Buddy) Stultz, all of Roanoke; three sisters, Juanita Darnell and husband, Bob, of Roanoke, Frances Pruett and husband, Carl of Goodview, Alice Mae Taylor and husband, Ken, Roanoke; four aunts, Kate Stultz of Martinsville, Loretta Rakestraw, of Nebraska, Pearl Stultz of Bristol, Tenn., Irma Farmer Holmes and husband Harry, of Highland Springs, Va.; many cousins, nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Funeral services will be held at the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, Monday, 2 p.m., with the Rev. Anthony C. Busic and the Rev. Jean T. Rutherford, with burial in Cedar Lawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday and Sunday, a t the Lotz Roanoke Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society or the Mount Pleasant Rescue Squad.
