TOWE, Wayne Lester, 71, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2002 at his residence. 
He was a retired diesel mechanic for Jones Motor Company and also worked at Bay Rock 
Marina as a marine mechanic. He was a Korean Conflict veteran, having served with the U.S. 
Navy. He was predeceased by his wife, Norma Lee Barksdale Towe and his parents, Lester Z. 
Towe and Rita Mae Galyean Collins. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Michael W. 
and Debbie Towe of Harrisonburg; two daughters and son-in-law, Pam and Dennis Harlow of 
Roanoke County, Sandie Hedgecock of Lenoir City, Tenn.; grandchildren, Chad Hedgecock, 
Greg Towe, Stacy Hall, Bradley Myers and Brittany Harlow; three great-grandchildren, Shelby 
Hedgecock, Cory Hedgecock and Alyssa Scott; one sister, Susan Myers of Roanoke; four brothers, 
Wilmer Towe of Roanoke, Danny Towe of Salem, Jackie Towe of Buchanan and Steve Hill of Roanoke. 
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday from the Lotz Vinton Chapel. Pastor Jeff Gardner 
will officiate. Burial to follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends anytime 
Saturday before service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lamplight Baptist Church, 
4307 Rock Garden Lane, SW, Roanoke, Va. 24014. Arrangements by Lotz Vinton Chapel.
