Isaac A. Lackey died intestate 18 September 1870 leaving a widow Mrs. Elizabeth Lackey and seven infant children, viz: John F., Nathan T., Phebe E., nannie V., James A., Amos, and Andrew M., admr. Sheriff William F. Johnston. Suit was brought against Isaac A. Lackey's heirs by the heirs of James Montgomery trying to collect a judgement against Issac A. Lackey for $150.00-- due from 12 September 1856, judgement dated 23 August 1867, Court costs were $7.10. Docketed 23 August 1867/ Mentions land on North River Isaac sold to Oliver B. Powers for $3925.00....... Amos A. Lackey bought a tract of 80 Acres and a tract of 12 Acres from this suit, it was not resolved until 1901. The suit does not state the burial site of Isaac A. Lackey. Mrs. Elizabeth Lackey was deceased by 1897. 15 January 1870, David W. Beard to Isaac A. Lackey, 81 Acres. Commissioner's sale 25 September 1899. Friday March 2, 1900, at 9 o'clock in front of the Court House of Rockbridge, to be sold at public auction tract of Isaac A. Lackey near Brownsburg, containing 12 Acres referred to as Hanger Tract. This tract received by Amos A. Lackey for $100.00. 16 April 1873. Commissioners appointed to assign Mrs. Elizabeth Lackey her dower. She was assigned 1/3 of estate. Entered 14 September 1886. Decretal Order 18 September 1872. D. W. Beard to make good deed to hrs of Isaac A. Lackey of 82 Acres.
