Forsythe to Mary Forsythe, all of Rockbridge. Pertaining to DOT filed in Deed Book W, p. 369. Debtors sold tract of land and Wm. E. Forsythe purchased same for $200.00. 2 undivided interest in Mary Forsythe's dower property, land of James Forsythe dec'd. Adjoining James C. Hutton, Wm. Clark and others. Same parcel conveyed to Addison Gilmore in trust by Mary Forsythe. Signed: A. (Transcription) [Marginal note: Cash, Reuben to (D.T.) Wm. Brown Exd. & Sent to Henry & Son per order by mail 1858 June 21.] This Deed made 1st day of December 1857 between Reuben Cash of the one part and Wm. Brown trustee of the other part Witnesseth that the said Reuben Cash doth grant unto the said Wm. Brown trustee the following property to wit: Eight hundred pounds tobacco, 1 Brown horse, one three horse wagon, 2 beds & bedding, one cow, to have and to hold said property forever in trust to secure Henry & Son in debt of Eighty five dollars due by bond 28 December 1857--provided, however that if the said Reuben Cash does & shall pay the aforesaid bond with interest thereon together with all the cost attending this trust on or before the 1st day of February 1858 the above obligation to be null & void otherwise to remain in full force & virtue. Witness the following seals & signatrues Reuben Cash (x his mark) William Brown Rockbridge County to wit: This day Reuben Cash and Wm. Brown parties to the foregoing deed personally appeared before me Schuyler Bradley a justice of the peace for said county and acknowledged the same to be their act deeds and desired me to certify the same to the Clerk of said Court for to be recorded.
