(Transcription) This Indenture made this 11th day of September 1827 between Thomas Moore and Mary his wife of the one part and James Ford of the other part both of Rockbridge County and State of Virginia Witnesseth that the said Thomas Moore and wife for and in consideration of the sum of one Hundred and twenty five dolls to them in Hand paid or secured to be paid by the said James Ford before the signing and ensealing of these presents the reciept whereof is Hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain and sell alein and confirm to the said James Ford a certain tract or parcel of land containing sixty acres to be the same more or less lying and being in the said County of Rockbridge on the South west end of the House mountain adjoining the lands of Michel Wilhelm Robert Clarke William Ayres & Smythers Heirs which was patented to Henry Ayres the Eighteenth day of June 1780 and conveyed by the said Henry Ayres to the said Thomas Moore by Deed bearing date the 9th day of March 1818 now of record in the County court of Rockbridge and Stated in said conveyance from said Ayres to said More to contain seventy four acres but it is intended by this indenture to convey only sixty acres or as much more as the said Thomas Moore hath a good title to by virtue of said conveyance from said Ayres to him to have and to Hold the said described tract or parcel of Land to Him the said James Ford his Heirs and asigns forEver and the said Thomas Moore and wife for himself and their Heris doth hereby covenant and agree that the title to the said Tract of Land they will forever warrant and defend tot he said james Ford his Heirs or asigns free from the claim of all persons whatsoever. in witness whereof the said Thomas Moore & mary his wife hath Hereunto subscribed their names and affixed their seals teh day and year first above written.
