J. M. Gilbert of the other part, both of Rockbridge County, Virginia. James Campbell fo and in consideration of sum of one dollar paid by said John J. M. Gilbert, in order to secure payment of sum of eighty one dollars and 91 cents due to Albert A. Yeatman by note bearing date 8 November 1847, with interest, grants unto the said John J. M. Gilbert the following: three beds, bedding and bedsteads, six chairs, two tables, two clocks, one bureau, one cupboard, one desk, one washstand, one cooking stove, and cooking utensils, one pair of andirons, one lot of cupboard furniture, one sewing machine and two looking glasses, in trust. John J. M. Gilbert, after the first day of January 1859 if the said A. A. Yeatman shall order, or the said James Campbell request, after first giving reasonable notice by public advertisement of the time and place of sale, shall proceed to seel at public sale the foregoing articles. From eh monies arising from the sale, he shall pay all legal expensesof these presents and the aforesaid debt to Albert A. Yeatman and the residue if any shall pay over to James Campbell. (Abstract) 4 January 1858 Deed of Trust James Conner and John Conner of one part and William McLaughlin of the other part all of Rockbridge County. James Conner and John Conner for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to them in hand paid by the said William McLaughlin do grant unto the said McLaughlin all their interest; it being the one half thereof, in and to a crop of wheat of about 25 Acres now growing on the lands of Joesph Kirkparick also one dun horse, one bed, one clock and a safe in trust to secure a debt due James M. Webb from the said James Conner and John Conner for forty seven dollars due by bond of even date with this deed payable on demand and a debt due from the said James Conner and John Conner for fifty dollars with interest one forty dollars from the 18th of September 1857 due by bond of even date with the deed and payable on demand. In case James Conner and John Conner shall make default in the payment of the said debt, it shall be the duty of William McLaughlin on or after the 1st day of October 1858, if requested by the said James Conner and John Conner or either of them or required by said Webb or Kirkpatrick, giving ten days notice of the time and place of sale by hand bills posted at one or more conspicious places in the neighborhood, to sell the said property hereby conveyed. Out of the proceeds of the sale, he shall, after paying costs of executing this trust pay the said debts of Webb and Kirkpatrick, with the interest, which may have accrued on them. (Abstract) 5 July 1858 Deed of Trust John Conner and James Conner of first part and Samuel H. Letcher trustee of second part, all of Rockbridge. Parties of the first part convey to party of second part following property: The whole of their interest in the growing crops now in the ground on the land of Joseph Kirkpatrick on North River near Cedar Grove Mill, to be delivered to the said party of the 2nd part or his beneficiaries, the corn in the heap when husked & the oats when thrashed at the market price. In trust to secure the following debts: debt due by account to Whitmore & Logan July 1st 1858 for fifty one dollars, a debt due W[right] & Co for Twelve dollars & fifty cents by account of date July 1st 1858 & a debt due J. Mathias Rapp for and in consideration of sum of one dollar has granted, leased to the aforesaid trustees and their successors for the term of ninety nine years, one half acre of land adjoining the land of Joseph A.
