Envelope: "Brownsburg, va, Dec 14th - 17 Mr. James Kyle Far_ _ _ tsburg Franklin County, Pennsylvania " Letter: " Brownsburg 12the Dec. 1809 Dear James, Having a length got a discharge from the navy of the United States, think it not improper to inform you that I am well at present hoping that you and all my broth- ers and sisters enjoys the like undisturbed state of health. It perhaps may be some satisfaction to you to inform you that I have been about since I got my release, which was the first of last May / My first step was on board a Ship bound from Baltimore to Boston, Mafsachusetts, to work my pafsage, from which place I entered on board a ship bound to Liverpool in England for Twelve dollars pr Mounth for which voyage I was five months gone, on the 10th day of Nov l ast I set my foot on the warf in Boston I then went on board a Schooner bound to Rich- mond Virginia, from which place I travelled on foot here. I have nothing particular to inform you of more than the above, but must request the favor of an answer to this, Please inform me the particulars of our fathers death and the regulations respecting his estate and dividend of the same.
